Meet my new baby, her name is Beara Beara. This beautiful backpack arrived on my doorstep the other day, and I could not have been happier. It is handcrafted with 100% natural leather, and because of that each bag is unique. How cool is that?! I am totally in love with things that are hand made, it really does make a difference.

Also this bag can hold SO MUCH STUFF. Which really is kind of dangerous for someone like me. I tend to have a very heavy purse because… what if. And let me tell you when it’s that 1% of the time that I need that random thing I have carried around in my bag for the last 6 months, I am one happy camper for having brought it along. Needless to say, big bag = more room for all my stuffs. Win win.

Since fall is up on us, I decided to pair this bad boy with an all-black outfit. Clearly I was feeling the leather this day because I went the whole nine yards and added the knee-high leather boots too. Leather on leather? Yes please. So into it.

Guyssssss I can’t get over how much I love this time of year! Would you look at those leaves on the ground? So freakin’ cute! It just makes me think about pumpkin… and pumpkin flavoured things (the curse of October.) In fact, I was en-route to getting a pumpkin pie from Aphrodite’s when we shot these photos. (<– guilty as charged.)

Anyways, it is just chilly enough now to bring out one of my all-time-favourite clothing pieces. The poncho. I have written before about the magical wonder of the poncho. It is essentially a socially acceptable blanket that you can wear in public without being shamed. And even pull off looking fashionable while doing it. You guys know how I like to try and get as close to wearing sweatpants as possible at all times, and this is definitely right up that alley. Also ponchos are very cape-like, which makes me feel like a queen. And, I mean, who doesn’t want to feel like a queen. Amiriteee?

HAPPY THURSDAY FRIENDS! Thursday = one more day until Friday, and Friday = WEEKEND! I have a sweet hike planned for this weekend so needless to say I am pretty excited lol. You guys will get all the pics after I conquer that mountain 🙂

Anywho, this outfit was one I put together last night before I went out for dinner. Totally loving earthy tones at this time of year (that sounds oh-so “zen” of me lol.) These colours tend to be very flattering on a wide variety of skin colours, so they are a great pick for anyone. Even if you are pasty, pale, and freckly like myself. I got both my sweater dress and my overcoat from Zara in Vancouver. My shoes, on the other hand, were purchased at Nine West.

Ok so I kinda have a thing for hats right now. They have the tendency to make any simple outfit look chic. I am all about clean + classic style in the fall, and adding a hat to these looks really dresses them up a little bit. 

Also… anyone remember my post on hair washing? Hats also realllllly help out with trying to wash your hair as little as possible. (<– you should really read that post, important beauty tip ladies! The less you wash your hair, the better.) That being said, we all know that on the third+ day of not washing your hair (don’t judge me you do it too) things can get a litttttle rough. Hence, the hat. You will look trendy AF and nobody will know that you are hiding a big greasy mess under there. (If there are any men reading this I am totally kidding and girls are dainty and clean at all times…… *ahem*) Anyyyywayssss, wearing a hat is really a win-win situation any way you look at it. The hat I am wearing here was purchased at Holt Renfrew Vancouver. 

Moving along to the rest of this look, my dress is from Oak + Fort and I am also super into long baggy dresses for fall. They are a classic piece that can be worn tons of different ways. Plus Oak + Fort always has the best stuff, I really need to stop going in there it is becoming a problem haha. And my beautiful leather bag is from the new Aritzia line called Auxiliary.

Annnnnnd I’m back. A little goth, simple colours, and lots of black. Fall is here and I love to dress to match the season. Summer is fantastic, but here in Vancouver fall is a pretty beautiful time. Yes it rains a lot, but the city is still gorgeous. And fall fashion. Yaaaasssss, I love it.

It is just so chic, you know? Everything dark, lots of hats, and of course… layers. All the layers. Uhg I am so excited. And also scared for my wallet… It is not even ready for all the shopping I am going to do haha. Anyone else overspend at the beginning of every new season? Or is that just me… Legit sometimes I walk into the mall feeling guilty before I even buy anything hahaha. It’s like I subconsciously know what damage I am going to do to my bank account before I even step into a store. Ok it’s definitely not subconscious because I know exactly what I am going to do lol. I am the ultimate consumer. 😛 Oh welllll! We all have our vices, right?! And this one happens to be lots of fun 😀

Okay on to my first official “fall” outfit here on Skinny Belle for this season. My sweater is from Talula Babaton (Aritzia) and I got it while I was busy selling my soul at the Aritzia warehouse sale. I am not proud of the things that happened in that sale — let’s just say I checked my dignity at the door. It was pretty much like being at war with all the women of Vancouver. To anyone whom I savagely fought for that last pair of Citizen jeans, I am truly sorry. But, we were are all in it together. And I will see you next year at the next sale 😉

These pants are basically socially acceptable sweatpants. Hell. Yes.

Ok so they are not actually made of sweat-pant material, but they pretty much feel like the same thing. You guys know me… the more comfortable I am in something the happier I am. AKA the closer I can get to wearing sweatpants without being a social outcast on a day-to-day basis, the better. 😉

So anywho, these amaze pants are from Aritzia. I highly suggest you go and get a pair for all your fall/winter adventures. They are so comfortable it is ridiculous, and I like to think that they are really cute too. My top was purchased at that savage Zara sale I mentioned a few weeks ago. Remember the one where it was basically like a live version of the hunger games on Robson street? Yea… I have no shame. Give this girl a good sale and I will be all over that shit. Haha! So unfortunately this top is no longer available, but there are tons of similar ones like it on the market right now.

My shoes, ohhhhh my shoes. I don’t know if you have noticed but I have been wearing these beauties all the time lately. They are SO comfortable (even for heels) and match with everything. Picked them up at Brown’s shoes in Vancouver a few weeks ago.

La la loveeeeee this hat. I totally bought it as a predictive “rain hat” for the winter here in Vancouver. Once those rain drops start to fall, they tend to not stop for a few months. Any woman living in Vancouver understands the futile plight of “hair in the winter time.” You can try all you want to make it look decent, but you will just end up with frizzy half-done hair that you kind of want to cry about every time you see it in a mirror. Yes, this is a thing that happens in my life.

Meet my newest bikini discovery — Soulstice Swim. They are a gorgeous Canadian company, who really know what’s up when it comes to swimsuits. Totally obsessed with their brand, and not to mention the founders of Soulstice are probably the cutest people I have ever met. Soulstice is all about exploring, traveling, and finding new places to cross of our bucket lists. This speaks directly to my heart, as I find travelling to be one of the most rewarding cultural experiences you can possibly have. Want to go on an adventure? I’m your girl. 

I am also a major sucker for anything pink, so obviously I had to have this Kali top and these Jessy bottoms both in the “Bloom” print. It is definitely my favourite print they sell so far.

It is officially that awkward time of year in Vancouver where it still feels like it is summer but the temperatures are significantly chillier. Like, it’s not quite time to be pulling out the all-black-everything winter sweater/boot outfits, but it is definitely too cold for full on summer clothes.

Hence, the magic of the sweater dress.

Sweater dresses are the perfect piece to carry you from summer to fall. And they are cozy AF. I am basically wearing socially acceptable pyjamas. And everyone knows that wearing anything that feels like pyjamas in public is pure winning.
