HAIR CARE

Beauty

Skinny-Belle (1 of 1)

This dry shampoo is literally everything.

Do you remember my post on why you should NOT wash your hair every day? (Or every other day….?) If you don’t, click here to check it out. Basically when you have long or medium length hair, it is absolutely horrible for you to wash it on a daily basis. The ends of your hair will get dry and brittle and your split ends will be out of control. Read this post to learn more about not washing your hair on the daily.

So how do I get away with being nasty and only washing my hair 2 times a week? Dry shampoo. I do not go on any trips without this coming along with me. It is literally a lifesaver. Not only does using dry shampoo help you not wash your hair for a few days, but it also is a major timesaver if you are running late for an event and don’t have time to shower/dry your hair/style it. So gross, but SO useful haha.

Where can you get it?

I bought both my travel size and my large bottle (see, total addict haha) at Sephora.

How do you use it?

Step 1: Brush your nasty-ass hair.

Step 2: Section off long horizontal areas starting at the bottom of your scalp near your neck.

Step 3: Holding the dry shampoo a few inches away from your head, spray the roots of your hair.

Step 4: Continue around your entire head spraying the roots of these sections. Use as little or as much as you need. Sometimes I just do a tiny bit to give me hair a little more volume, other times I go nuts and put that shit everywhere. Depends on how gross your hair is lol 😂

Step 5: Don’t touch your hair for about a minute. Let the dry shampoo do it’s thing. Then, take your brush and brush through everything and be amazed at how fab your hair looks.

BOOM. Major life-hack right here. You’re welcome. 😜

Do any of you guys have dry shampoo brands you prefer? Anyone already do this? Comment below! 💕

When I went to Paris this week, I honestly really wasn’t expecting much. I have never been one of those girls who “dreams of going to Paris.” For whatever reason, honestly hadn’t really thought of even going there. Let’s just say I majorly underestimated how much I would like Paris. I totally fell in love. 😍

Everywhere you go there there is just so much to see — no turn is a wrong turn. Getting lost in a city and exploring is probably one of my favourite things to do. Not to mention the food. Sweet mother of god was it ever good. One thing you should know about me, is I have a major sweet tooth. It is verging on not normal how much I like sweets. So walking around Paris was just a giant sugar rush for me lol. It was shameful how many macarons I ate at Laduree, honestly don’t even want to talk about it because it was that bad. 😂 And then there was the chocolates, the pastries, the desserts…. the list goes on forever. Basically what I am trying to say is my ass will be at the gym working off my bad behaviour for the next week LOL. Whatever, totally worth it.

A few snaps from Austin, Texas + a travel update!

What a week! If you guys follow me on snapchat 👻 (@robynkim) you know that I just spent this past week in France! It was so crazy busy that I haven’t even had time to upload any of the photos yet. Let’s just say blogging in Paris > everywhere. I am SO EXCITED to share pics with you! Everything is just prettier there haha.

For today, here are a few pics a took the week before in Texas. ☺️ I am back in Austin now for the weekend before I head to Vancouver on Monday, and I have lots more to share with ya’ll soon. Plus I have one of my #1 travel beauty tips coming your way because I was thinking about it and HOW have I not shared this with you yet?? Honestly no idea. Major fail on my part lol!

Also, on my way home from the airport last night in Austin I totally stopped at In n’ Out (shameful pics on my snapchat lol.) Why is it that every time I leave Canada/USA I always have the biggest cravings for “American” food? I never eat that crap normally haha it is so weird.

Anyways, happy Friday babes!! 😘

A tasty dinner in, and a delish salad recipe for you!

If you guys frequently read Skinny Belle, it will be no surprise to you that I love food. There are some people in this world who eat because they have to. I am not one of those people.

Food is life, food is my love. (<– Yes, I am serious about this shit lol.) I am also totally a homebody who loves to just stay in and drink a glass of wine of 5 and cook to my little heart’s content. #hermitlife

Anyways, staying in and making this dinner was pretty much my ideal night. The menu included some bombbbb chicken, crab legs, salad, and margaritas. Today I will share my salad recipe with you because I am obsessed with how simple + easy this one is. AND of course it tastes like heaven (in my totally un-biased opinion.)

**Please forgive the slightly less than ideal pics, as I was realistically a few glasses of wine in by the time we ate and WAY too hungry… so they were a bit rushed. 😂 Blogger fail on my part.

Lemon dressing ingreds:

  • 3 tbsp EVOO (extra virgin olive oil)
  • 1.5-2 tbsp of fresh-squeezed lemon juice (depending on how acidic you like your dressing!)
  • Pinch of sea-salt
  • Pinch of pepper

Just whisk all that stuff together in a bowl and boom your dressing is done. So easy, told you. 😉

Salad ingreds:

  • Baby arugula
  • Yellow + red grape tomatoes
  • Pink lady apple (thinly sliced)
  • Red onion (thinly sliced)

Toss everything together and you are done! You will be surprised at how flavourful this salad is. The arugula makes alllll the difference.

Okay so what do you guys think? Will you be trying this recipe at home?? Comment below! 😘

Happy first day of spring everyone!

Here are some snaps of a cute lil’ outfit I wore out in Austin this weekend. It was hot as hell there and I was definitely glad to be wearing these loose linen pants. Noooobody wants to be stuffed into tight-ass clothes when you are in a place with high heat/humidity. It’s just a bad look all around.

K also, can we TALK about my shoes?? Shoeme.ca hooked me up with these Jessica Simpson shoes, and I am alllll about them. I have been looking for some lace-up nude heels for a while because they go well with everything, and I am lazy so win-win. I’ve bought shoes from the Jessica Simpson a few times before, and I actually really love them. They are good quality and also super comfortable. Boom! Check out some other looks from her brand by clicking here

Hope you guys had a great weekend!
