Hey guyssss. So I had to share these photos with you, I thought they were so much fun! I took these last weekend at my birthday on an old school disposable camera. Truth be told, I really wanted to bring out my new Nikon that night but my elderly wisdom made me know better than to bring a brand new camera out to a party haha. Yes, my elderly wisdom. 😉 Anyways so I went to Urban Outfitters and got this super fun disposable camera that has shapes/words watermarked over each photo! So much fun I think :).

Anyways, tomorrow is Friday!! What are your Friday night plans?? I think I will go out for dinner with some friends.

Talk soon. <3

ROASTED ROOT VEGGIES

Winter is almost over!!! It is getting sunnier and sunnier every day, and I am the most excited. In honour of winter being over (let’s just say it is…) I wanted to share one of my favourite comfort meals to make on a chilly evening. Because we all know we have quite a few more chilly evenings left before it gets real nice and warm out.

Roasted root veggies! They are beautiful, colourful, and delicious. Not to mention they are packed with all sorts of good vitamins. Winning.

I usually make this when I am trying to seem like a good cook and want to make something that is pretty much guaranteed to work out, but still tastes freaking amazing. What I am trying to say is this recipe will totally make you look like a super talented chef… So bonus points for you! 😉

What’s in it:

  • Beets
  • Carrots
  • Onion
  • Garlic cloves
  • Sweet potato
  • Regular potato
  • Lemon
  • Fresh Italian parsley
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic powder

Okay you guys ready? Let’s do this.

Start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees. Wash your veggies and chop them into about 1 – 2 inch cubes. Try and cut the beets a bit smaller because they tend to take longer to cook. Take the skin off your garlic cloves, and leave those beautiful babies whole. Yes… whole. garlic. cloves. You will like it, just do it. 😛 Now, finely chop up your fresh italian parsley. If you don’t have fresh parsley on hand, dried parsley will do but honestly the fresh stuff tastes so much better it’s worth the trip to the store (promise.) Next take your lemon and slice it into pretty thick slices. Throw all this in a baking dish and cover with your extra virgin olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste. Yes, I add more garlic on top of the already generous full garlic cloves. Why the hell not, right?

After you have mixed everything up so all the veggies are evenly covered in oil and spices, throw it in the oven for about 60 minutes! This seems like a long time I know, but this is a prime opportunity to have your wine. (Just saying…) When you take it out of the oven, make sure you remove the lemon slices before you serve it! They are just there to flavour the dish.

And thats it! I love simple recipes like this, that seem like they took a lot more skill than they really did haha. It will be our little secret though. 🙂

Let me know what you think of this recipe!

Hi everyone! So I basically had the best weekend of all time. I had my birthday party with friends, and it was honestly one of the most fun nights out I’ve had! Thanks again to everyone who came, you guys made me feel so special and I love you all lots and lots and lots 😀

Andddd this is what I wore! I am so obsessed with this top by Free People right now, it is probably not normal but whatever haha. It is so whimsical and hippie looking, it really is making me look forward to the summer time. In the summer I have a tendency to go full hippie… well not actually full hippie, but you get the point haha.

My jeans are the pair of Citizen “Rocket” jeans that I basically live in. They fit like a glove and are ohhhh so comfortable.

Today I am going to do some chores, and whip up some recipes to share with you guys! Lots of my fave recipes are coming soon… so stay tuned!

AT HOME SPA

I absolutely love doing at home spa treatments. They are such a great way to relax mid-week and treat yourself. It is sooo important that we make ourselves feel special and cared for, so that we can properly relax and feel like the queens that we are. There are so many things you can do at home for almost no cost, that will leave you feeling refreshed and relaxed. I wanted to share this trick that I do about once or twice a week, depending on how much time I have.

Having a pink Himalayan sea salt bath is so relaxing and makes me feel like a new womannnnn. Lol! It really does. And there is a reason I feel so awesome after having one of these pink salt baths. Pink Himalayan sea salt is a magical thing. Himalayan salt comes from bodies of water located in the Himalayan Mountains. Putting the salt in your bath mimics the feeling of ancient seas (<– which is AWESOME! No?)

So… what does adding pink Himalayan sea salt to your bath do? Here’s the skinny:

  • It supports weight loss, detox, and balanced hormones.
  • Himalayan pink sea salt also improves your skin’s look, texture, and tone.
  • It provides you with 84 essential minerals and trace elements that can dissolve in water, and will absorb into your blood stream when you are in your salt bath!
    • These minerals and trace elements are essential to our health and well-being.
  • Pink Himalayan salt is also known to soothe muscle aches and pains, which is great after a long workout!
  • Have your Himalayan pink salt bath before bed, and you will notice a significant difference in the quality of your sleep!
  • And finally, it has been said that it reduces stress. Which is alwaysss a good thing 🙂

It is so cozy to have an at-home spa day (or evening,) and something as simple as adding pink Himalayan sea salt to your bath and lighting a candle can make a world of difference. I always feel so much more relaxed and calm after doing this. To have a pink Himalayan sea salt bath, I add about ¾ cup of salt to my bath. And there you go! At home spa. The perfect mid-week relaxation treat. 🙂

Lots of love <3

BIRTHDAY GIRL

Lifestyle

Birthday-2

Birthday-1

Birthday-4

Birthday-5

Today is my birthday!! Here are some raw photos of me, and how I look at home. AKA sweatpants all the time. Wearing sweats and flip-flops when I am relaxing at home is literally my favourite thing haha. Now you know. 😛 I wanted to take a picture of myself this morning, to remember this day.

Different events, milestones, and special days in life are quite meaningful to me. If you havent already, check out my thoughts on Valentines Day. I think these special days, like birthdays, are such an amazing opportunity to reflect on all the great things that we have in our life. Not to mention, big days are often the times that I take a more in depth look at my goals, what I want in life, and make sure I am still taking the steps necessary to achieve my goals. That being said, goals for me are not something that just happen at New Years or birthdays. I just happen to find these dates to be a great time to reflect and make sure I am still on track. I am a continuous goal setter, so it is nice to take a step back and make sure my short term goals are still driving me towards my long term goals. Anyways… that’s enough about that for now!

Now on to the important stuff… PRESENTS!!! 😀 The beautiful camera I am holding in the photo above was my birthday present. It is now my child. I will nurture it, care for it, and give it everything it wants and more. (Until it stops taking good photos then I am totally ditching it for a better model 😛 ) Haha! But you get the point. I am super duper happy about this purchase, because it has been something I have wanted for a long time. Wasn’t quite ready to upgrade to a full frame camera (for my fellow camera nerds out there 🙂 ) but the Nikon D7100 seemed like the perfect upgrade for me right now.

Anyways, hope you are all having a great day! I really love you guys, and appreciate you hanging out with me here. It makes me so happy to be able to have this awesome community with you. <3
