The last week or so has not been the greatest – I’ve been sick with the flu and my voice sounds pretty terrible. So, apologies about THAT.
We’re in NYC for a few days and there’s so much to do it’s honestly kind of overwhelming, but I will definitely keep you updated and look forward to seeing you again on Sunday!
First vlog back in California waddup!! So nice to be back home (for a few days lol) before I take off on the next adventure.
Wanted to go out to Malibu to visit Point Dume, and was it ever amazing. The wildflowers out in Malibu are insane right now! Nothing more beautiful in my opinion.
Okay short post today because honestly I am still super jet lagged and about 1 minute away from falling asleep on my keyboard lol.
Since it was my first time truly traveling alone, I decided at the beginning of the trip that I would record a video diary of my time in Bali. Anything to do with feelings/experiences on solo travel!
This is what I came up with, and I wanted to share it as a *hopefully useful guide to anyone thinking of traveling solo. Maybe “guide” is the wrong word… “realistic expectations” might be more appropriate. haha
It’s important to me to always be honest with you. And when I am vlogging, I am stoked 99% of the time. But there was a lot of time off camera on this trip where things went wrong and/or I wasn’t super excited about where I was. So I wanted to share both the good and the not-so-good parts of solo travel to help give you a realistic summary of what the experience was like.
Hope you enjoy this video – and thank you for your support on the Bali series! So much more goodness to come – every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday 😉
Today I discovered what is hands down my favourite beach in Bali. I feel like I say this about most places I go in Bali, but this is REALLY the best beach. And that is my final answer lol 😉
Today I visited the famous Omnia Bali! This place has been super hyped up, and I really wanted to go for myself and see if it was as amazing in person.
I think the thumbnail makes it obvious but Omnia Bali was a GOOD TIME! So beautiful, luxurious, and the vibe was RIGHT.
In the video I briefly mentioned price but honestly it was so loud it was hard to vlog lol. The prices there are expensive for Bali standards, but for USA standards, they are VERY reasonable. I think the min spend is about $100 per head, which if you compare that to Vegas, is nothing!
Definitely recommend checking out Omnia if you are ever in Bali. It’s located in Uluwatu so about a 1-2 hour drive from Canggu depending on traffic. Pray for no traffic cuz it took forever for us haha!
Make sure you head over to YouTube and leave this video a thumbs up!
Travel plans have been really up in the air for my last week in Bali! Needed a chill day in Canggu to get things sorted. Watch the vlog above to find out what happened!
Honestly have never ever taken myself on a solo date before, and I have no regrets!! This “self date night” (let’s call it.. lol) in Seminyak, Bali was so much fun, and I would 150% recommend if you are ever in Bali that you check out the mixology course at Katamama Hotel. SO. MUCH. FUN.
Basically you get to invent two custom drinks and make them yourself with the guidance of their epic bartender! I went with one that was similar to an old-fashioned (which is my cocktail of choice!) and then one with a local fruit. Both were INCREDIBLE.
I’ve been to so many “instagram cafes” here in Bali and a lot of the time the food and drinks look amazing, but in reality it tastes just average. This spot, was actually incredible. SO YUM.
Not every day when traveling is a super happy one, and that is OKAY! Today was Troy’s (bae) last day in Bali and I got quite emotional when he left to the airport.
Going to just chill out for the rest of the day and re-energize for tomorrow!
Finally spent a full day hanging out in Canggu, Bali! Have been wanting to make this vlog for a while but things kept coming up that took me out of Canggu, so here we are!
I retired from my surfing days mostly because no matter how badly I want to be a cool surfer girl, I just don’t enjoy being thrown around in the water. So there’s one thing left to do for our time in Canggu… EAT.
OH ALSO, my boyfriend is here now!! So nice to have some company for a little bit while traveling. He’s only here for a few days, but it’s great nonetheless.
Alright so in today’s Bali vlog we test out the trendiest cafes and restaurants in Canggu. Specifically, The Lawn and Crate Cafe. Make sure you watch the video above to learn the TEA about these spots.
lol
Ok, that’s it from me for today. Hope you’re having a great one!
